We are seeking a highly skilled Creative Digital Designer to join our team in Leeds. You will have commercial experience working in digital on a range of client sectors. Working within an experienced design team, you should have knowledge of current trends, a passion for design and a strong understanding of what makes for a great user experience. As you may need to present to clients, you should have the ability to present your work in an articulate and confident manner and are able to communicate the rationale behind the proposed solution.

Life at Pi

Day to day, you will be helping to shape digital products, working alongside the design team in partnership with the relevant innovation and front end teams to ensure you’re delivering a user-centred design. This will cover all phases of the product from; research, data based insights, design sprints, prototyping and future product phases.

Responsibilities

  • Able to understand and balance user and business needs
  • Able to lead design workshops and sprints
  • As a hands on role the following skills will be required;
    • Sketching layouts, concepts and storyboards
    • Creation of UX documents such as wireframes, flow charts and personas
    • Laying out of designs in relevant design software: Photoshop, Illustrator or Sketch
    • Create interactive design concepts as prototypes
  • To help to ensure that a user-centric design philosophy is applied to all work undertaken
  • Be responsible for the quality of design work on their given projects
  • Build and maintain team rapport with the rest of the team and clients

Skills

  • Strong portfolio with relevant education, backed up by commercial design experience
  • Ability to articulate and present creative ideas
  • A working knowledge of the latest versions of applicable programs – Adobe Creative suite: Photoshop, Illustrator or Sketch
  • Understanding of analytic and optimisation software
  • A strong understanding of the fundamentals of information architecture and usability
  • Passion for design and eagerness to collaborate with other creative people
  • Self-motivated, organised and accountable
